My Journey: Blending Science and Passion

Hi, I’m Vishakha Rakshe, and I’m currently pursuing my B.Sc. in Food Science and Technology. But if you know me personally, you’ll also know this: I have a deep love for makeup. For me, makeup isn’t just about products or looks—it’s about creativity, confidence, and expression. It has always been my way of turning ideas into something visible, colorful, and empowering.

When I first dreamed about my career, I wanted to step fully into the world of beauty and makeup. My parents, however, felt differently and guided me toward food science. At the time, it felt like a compromise. But now, I see it as a balance. Food science has opened my mind to a fascinating world of innovation, health, and technology. Every lecture and lab teaches me something new about how food shapes our lives. It’s a field with so much scope for growth, and I’m proud to be building my career here.

At the same time, I’ve made sure not to let go of my first love—makeup. Out of pure passion, I started my own makeup blog. It’s a space where I will further share tips, ideas, product experiences, and creative looks. Writing and creating for that blog doesn’t feel like work—it feels like joy. It allows me to keep learning, experimenting, and staying connected to something that has always been a part of me.

I’ve realized that I don’t have to choose between my career and my passion—they can coexist. My degree gives me a strong professional foundation, while my blog keeps my creative side alive. And honestly, both feed into each other: food science trains me to be precise, detail-oriented, and thoughtful, while makeup gives me the freedom to dream, play, and create.

So here I am, a student of food science who also runs a makeup blog. Two worlds that may seem different, but together they make me me. And I’m excited to see how both paths will continue to shape my future.
